The Panelcorp Group has developed a standardised model for inspecting & repairing vehicles using the guidelines set out by the Australian Fleet Lessors Association (AFLA).

The AFLA members currently have over 250,000 vehicles under lease in Australia that are subject to the guidelines documented below.

The association has described what is classed as acceptable return conditions for a fleet vehicle and what is described as “Fair wear & Tear”.

The description of Fair Wear & Tear from AFLA is:

“Taking in to account a vehicle’s age and mileage and covering overall condition, from the mechanics and the electrics through to the bodywork and the upholstery, fair wear and tear summarises the degree of deterioration judged to be reasonable at the end of a contract period”

Any damage above this “Fair Wear & Tear” is billed back to the client at cost plus an administration charge.
